Bolton Power

Bolton Power Ltd, located between Birmingham and Manchester, has supplied copper to all the worlds’ major electrical companies for over 200 years.

History :

Bolton Power, formally known as Thomas Bolton, grew out of a business producing buckles into one of the world’s leading producers of copper for electrical purposes. The company placed itself at the fore front of its chosen markets. This has lead to its involvement in major projects from the first trans-Atlantic telephone cable to the generator powering the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The companies continued investment in its production facilities has lead to a closer focus in its chosen markets, supplying copper and copper alloys to satisfy the bare copper needs within generators and motors alike.

Activity :

As the sole British producer, the company has dedicated itself to the manufacture of copper and high copper alloys in its chosen markets. Through the excellence of its product range and accumulated experience, Bolton Power has passed its benefits on to blue chip organisations on five continents and smaller organisations alike.

Alloys : Alloys

Copper offers a higher conductivity and lower resistance than other comparable materials, such as aluminium, making it the material of choice for electrical power products. We produce a wide range of different alloys to British and European specifications.

Characteristics of Bolton Power Alloys are :

Excellent dimensional adhereance
Creep resistant
High mechanical properties
Superior electrical conductivity
Good machinability
High softening resistance
